Like a wrestler in a tutu

How many amazing people do we run into every day?

I think a lot. And I feel like a lot of them are hidden here in New York City, lucky me!

Let me introduce you one of them : Cal Lane, or I should say Like a wrestler in a tutu.

She says that she works as a visual devil’s advocate, using contradiction as a vehicle for finding her way to an empathetic image, an image of opposition that creates a balance - as well as a clash - by comparing and contrasting ideas and materials.

This girl is just amazing. She blows our mind by creating a tappisserie from a war baril, a lace from an hydraulic cylinder, a religious icon from an oil can and so on and so on. Can you believe that she has her own truck, goes hunting the biggest pieces of steel she can find and get to fabricate those fantastic master-pieces:

And if you have the opportunity, just go check her latest work here:
 -> 514 West 24th St (between 10th & 11th ave) - 2nd Floor

This girl keeps on travelling, just follow her, it feels so goood to meet such creative, smart and courageous people:  http://www.callane.com/
